Q: Who is the coach?
A: Founder & Artistic Director Bree O'Connor- a multi-hyphenate theatre maker with over 30 years of experience
Q: Where do you offer sessions?
A: Currently, we offer online sessions for Acting, Writing and Project Development Coaching. Coaching sessions can be offered in person, but only at a public facility (i.e. work space, rehearsal room, etc) for an extra fee depending on cost for the meeting space. NO coaching sessions will be conducted in a private home.
Q: How do sessions... work?
A: Sessions can be centered on specific projects/ auditions, challenge based (i.e. I can't figure out this scene!), skills acquisition, or as a trusted, discreet consultant who can provide advice and recommendations for creative roadblocks and production issues.
Q: How much does it cost?
A: $60/ hour for a single session. 5 Session Package: $275
Q: Um... no offense, but that sounds... kinda cheap for New York.
A: Yep. It is. The price reflects a delicate balance between keeping Playful Substance running and acknowledging the value that exists in the coach/artist exchange.
Q: What is the approach?
A: Whether I am coaching in acting, writing or project development, the relevant skill set remains the same; to nurture the self awareness required to listen and respond with authenticity. Different approaches work for different artists and half the fun is finding out what works!
